Our head chef Tom, creates a culinary journey to Asia and back to Kent to create stunning plates from some of the best seasonal British produce. The Boardroom reflects the finer things in life, a slower pace to the hustle and bustle of modern living. Being in the slow lane doesn’t mean you need to compromise, in fact it allows you to sit back and savour the finest ingredients, while indulging in the grand atmosphere.
Located on the historic Rochester High Street, just meters from the Rochester Bridge. Nearest parking is on the Esplanade.

One of Rochester’s grandest rooms awaits your arrival, from the soft pastel tones of the dusty pink chairs to our beautiful British designed and manufactured chandelier ‘the urchin’, every detail matters.
The Grade II listed Conservancy Building in Rochester High Street was built in 1909 and originally used as offices for the Medway Conservancy Board before serving as an annexe to the Guildhall Museum. Fast forward to 2018 and the building was purchased by the Halpern Charitable Foundation and renamed the Halpern Conservancy Board Building, which is now home to Café Nucleus Rochester.
The evening restaurant demonstrates our passion for British and Kentish ingredients from traceable origins, our chefs work with our entire supply chain to ensure we source the finest produce and ingredients.

Tom, our head chef in Rochester, Join’s us from Wolf Gang Puck’s The Cut at 45 Park Lane – part of the Dorchester Collection. Tom brings a breadth of knowledge from working his way up in London, Coworth Park, Ascot and cooking in Los Angeles and Maui, Hawaii. Taking his inspiration from Thomas Keller and his California restaurant French Laundry, Tom’s philosophy is regardless of position in the kitchen, a passion for food is essential!
Typically our chefs come to us with a background and experience in fine dining, allowing us to create a fusion of flavours with a European accent through our daytime and evening menu.
